I just read that a Walker Colt sold for $920K. Hell if I had that coinage, I could buy out Walt. But after today's meltdown, I will be working a while longer.
Already got the ammo loaded and pistols packed for a Saturday session at the club.

Yup, just saw that story.

I know the auction house (James D Julia) and they only sell THE finest stuff.

Matter of fact I have an Auto Mag that was owned by one of their top appraisers, Wm "Pete" Harvey. Its a most interesting piece a 3 digit Pasadena that he sent back to have converted to solid bolt and then magnaported! Real sweet piece it is!

Pete is an interesting guy, and has his own gun shop in NH with unbelievable stuff. He has a collection of Colts and Winchesters that just leaves you speachless.

Last time I was in his shop he had a mint Colt Gatling gun on an original wooden carriage with extra mags and ammo just sitting in the middle of the shop! It was one of the most impressive historical firearms I have ever seen. The workmanship was just fantastic.

As for working a little longer,,, well I think the concept of retirement is just about gone for most Americans now.  But for those living at the poverty level on welfare and the very few who are living off what they stole of the rest of us (i.e. the Wallstreet fatcats), I think we just saw the already declining American dream get flushed down the drain,,,,

Guess we can always fall back on: "live fast, play hard, and die young,,," and not worry about retirement,,,

So on that note, maybe I'll scrap my plan to do some Auto Mag house cleaning and now starting looking for a couple more! Well its as good a plan as anything at this point,,, LOL

Later guys.
