All—I stopped by the Starline booth at the NRA Indy show Sunday and thanked them for supporting us. I have recently placed an order for 500 rounds of 44 AMP brass which is backordered. I asked them how they operate and what I can expect in terms of a delivery date. 

They said they make brass in batches and typically wait until they have a certain order threshold before scheduling a batch for production. The fact that they are allowing people to place orders is supposedly a good sign—it indicates that production should begin in the relatively near future. Obviously the more orders they get the sooner they will reach their target value to start production. 

I asked him what might be a reasonable expectation for 44 AMP and he couldn’t really commit, but suggested the fact they are available to order suggests they might be produced within the next 12 months, 18 at the outside.
