All,

This just popped up on my feed:

https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/1148941525" rel="nofollow - https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/1148941525

The new Classic Editions are fetching $13-14k these days. I would imagine a Founders Edition with all the accessories would get more, and with the number FE-44 maybe even more still. It will be interesting to see how this one pans out….

Sold for $12,182 (including buyer’s premium) plus tax and shipping. Rather less than I expected, honestly.

I saw the buyer's premium note in the ad.

Were they charging an additional fee other than GunBroker?

Something new that started a while back. Anything sold under the Collector's  Elite auctions has a 10% buyer premium on top of hammer price. So add tax and you are looking at about an extra 20% over your wining bid. The winning bidder has no feedback so I wondered if they read all the fine print but he also only bid once and was never topped so he might of had a 20k bid on it. Who knows where his max was.

I orffered the FE-44 to all here first, it was with some regret that it went to GB - Elite but I had no experience to sell it myself.

Every one here had their chance Mark.

Since GB started adding tax I quit buying there.  I get ahold of the seller and if he won't sell it off GB I forget about it.

Mark, I totally agree that you did the right thing on turning over the sell of the amazing firearm. Many times I have seen $1500 plus amt guns
get listed by a new account with zero feedback. Most of them even have warnings that it could be scam and if you have seen the identical gun listed that you can report it. If you have a big money gun to sell and are not a regular seller, I figure it is always best to consign it with a top seller or the way you did. I have seen the elite auctions but didn't know much about other than the 1st one I seen had the 10% premium and at first thought gb was starting to charge it but realized it was only on the elite.

Beemer, When they started charging tax, I figured it just takes money out of the sellers pocket because it lowers my max bids. I figure all the tax and shipping plus transfer cost into what the max i am willing to pay. Tax on used guns gets under my skin but get same thing at pawn shop too..

I appreciate this very much. I hope someone is happy with this pistol as I was to have it for five years.

The buyer's premium is something new and is outside of the regular fee usually only paid by the seller.
When you go to place a bid, you have to check a box confirming the premium before you can submit your bid.
