I really like the feel and solidity of the Hogue grips I bought a while back, but the grayish color wasn't quite to my taste - so I decided to do something about it and got a bottle of Rit "DyeMore" dye today (DyeMore works on plastics, etc unlike the regular Rit dyes).

Before and after:

Now she looks more like she should.

If you were happy and you knew it, would you clap your hands?

You did well!
Radically changes the look in a positive way.
I used to dislike those grips, but not anymore!

Very nice, how long did you let the grips dye for to get them to look like that ?????

I personally like the look and feel of the original Pasadena grips best but use the g-10 grips for everyday use / shooting, there the next best thing that are currently made unless you can find some Micarta ones and there way better than any wood ones out there but the wood ones give you a look the g-10 lack's and I think you have figured that out.

Again  nicely done

Thank you, all.

I simmered (just under a boil) the grips one at a time for 15 minutes and then rinsed them under cold water - they're not yet totally black but I can always do them again. I've also noticed no dye coming off onto my hands, which is a relief.

I bought a second set from Patrick and they came black to begin with.  A slightly more narrow profile as well.  I like them even better than the first set that is more camo looking both fit and finish.

So after 3-1/2 years, how did the dyed grips hold up?
Never heard of 'DyeMore' before, always just boiled plastic parts in normal Rit.
Will have to give it a try sometime.
