I foolishly bent mine a while ago. Couldn't find a replacement so I had a machinist make a few. This is new, mild steel, same dimensions as original strut. I installed one in my III and have over 1,000 rounds on it, still looks the same as day it went in. I you need one I am selling this for $38.00 mailed anywhere in USA. Don't want to get involved in shipping parts out of country. I can email pictures (not having any luck uploading on an IPad.). Payment by USPS MO or personal check (held until check clears my bank). No PayPal please. If interested post a reply.
Thanks

Sorry guys, down to one and I’d prefer to keep it for myself.  If you still want them let me know, I can have more machined.  Might be a couple bucks more than the last batch he made for me 3 years ago.
Thanks

Just wondering, has anyone found a source for hammer struts to fit our 30 cals?

So after bending my factory hammer strut a second time it needed to be replaced. Out of Stock. In an effort to avoid another bent strut, I cut several out of spring steel. This strut floats in the hammer spring and on a solid pin, so the harder material doesn't wear the unavailable parts of this gun. I thought this change in material would render it unbend-able to make up for my clumsy fingers during cleaning. I was wrong. After 8 successive full hammer drops with the slide removed, it finally bent. Installed a second one during assembly and this pistol operates flawlessly. Man I love shooting this gun. Anyone else who needs a replacement hammer strut, I have several cut from spring steel with the same dimensions as the original from my IAI Automag III 30 cal.

Hi, I have been looking for a hammer strut everywhere and they are nowhere to be found. I would like to buy some from you if they are still available. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks.

I’m also looking for some hammerstruts as I’m collecting 3 used automag iii pistols in 30 carbine in a few weeks, and this will probably be a part that I will have to replace in a few of them.

If anyone has a technical drawing with exact dimensions, that would also be interesting! Then I can try to find a machinist to make me some…

Hello, I’m a new user here and looking for a replacement hammer strut for my Automag III so I can shoot it again. One of my favorite handguns and like others I’ve been unable to find a replacement. If anyone who has had some made has an extra they would be willing to sell, please message me and I would be very grateful!

Almost impossible to find I’m afraid. I’m looking for a few months now already…
Does anyone have a drawing with exact dimensions maybe? And know which material to use?

Thank you Bmi48219 for writing: "As I recall replacing the strut was an ordeal. An up to date tutorial might save someone from having fits."

A very talented friend of mine created this easy to follow Tutorial of "How To Change A Hammer Strut In An Automag III,IV,and V ". Hopefully this will help someone get through the ordeal.

If you find yourself in need of a replacement strut, I have strut upgrades available. They appear identical to the original, but are made of a much stronger material. You will not need a spare.

YELLOW, Posted a picture of hammer and strut bent/and unbent the sixth posting on Page 1 of AMT Automag III Hammer strut.  There are numerous similar photos and chatter about the topic in that thread. http://www.amtguns.info/amt-automag-iii-hammer-strut_topic2898.html" rel="nofollow - www.amtguns.info/amt-automag-iii-hammer-strut_topic2898.html

Redline Plus, thanks for the instructional.  If I recall correctly, the task frequently seemed to require three hands.  Not being so endowed I found a piece of scrap wood that fit fairly snugly into the magazine well and cut one end of it to match the grip angle.  Attaching that end to a piece of one-by and clamping the one-by to my workbench gave me a stand for the frame so I could use both hands for the work.

Am I the only one missing this part in the picture?

Both my AM iii’s don’t have it, and the one that I returned to the dealer also didn’t…

Sharp eye Yellow!

No you're not alone, none of my AMT's has that "plunger".
In fact I never saw that before.
