What would be the approximate value of an Automag (44amp) frame be? This is a frame only with working trigger, hammer, safety, takedown latch and mag release. No upper or grips but seems to be complete otherwise......Thanks in advance!

Need to know at least a partial serial#. A Pasadena is probably worth more than a N Hlwd. Even so, I've never bought just a frame. Would depend, too, on just how bad somebody needed/wanted it. Kind of a "shotgun" estimate(very wide coverage) would be from $500-900. Hopefully another member can nail it down a bit more.

Looking for frames latey and being a good frame no bent bolt ring or anyother damage I would say if you can get it for $1,500.00 to $1,600.00 your a lucky man.

WOW! I was Waaaay off! I had no idea, but I guess it makes sense. Heck, a few years ago I sold a whole gun for $1400! I was basing my estimate on that price, not trying to mislead. I'm glad somebody set the record straight.

I agree with 1776 for frame value and needing approximate serial range. Three weeks ago, I purchased a later model (higher serial number) "High Standard" .357 for $1100.  It was out of tolerance compared to my Pasadena and required some smithing to accept the barrel from the 180 and for the 160 barrel to fit the Pasadena.  If the frames are really worth $1500, I would part mine out, keep the 160 barrel and pocket the profit.

icicle,

Im not sure what you did to modify the frame to accept the barrel but please contact me by PM...anybody else have a functioning and unmolested frame assembly in the $1,500 price range with no dents, good cocking piece, good lugs on the bolt, good bolt ring, etc...please contact me by PM. Minor scratches and discoloration are not an issue... TDE, Pasadena, High Standard or whatever. You keep your barrel and grips!

The frame I bought a few years ago was insufficiently chamfered along the top of the recoil lug slot. But it might have been a lunchbox frame; all of the pin holes were undersized and had to be reamed, and there was no mark from the accelerator.

I didn't realize the hole for the spring-loaded takedown pin was either slightly undersize or burred; the pin went in flush and won't come out. And it's harder than the clappers of hell. I've been too busy to look for a local shop that might be able to EDM the thing. If they can just make a hole through it I can hook it out.
