Over the last few days I have had a number of PM's & email's suggesting some kind of a collection for Laura (schwammy fiance), I think this is a very good idea and I hope that we can help her out as much as we can.

USRGuns has kindly volunteered to coordinate our efforts and I would ask anyone who feels they can help to get in touch with him via PM.

I am sure the thought that relative strangers offering some support at a time like this will come as some comfort at this time.

If you have any questions please send a PM to USRGuns or to me.

All the best.

Ian

As Ian has stated I have offered to assist in this as I have been helping her in any way I can.  As Ian stated if you want to donate just shoot me a PM and we can work out the details.  As for right now I need a little legal advice.  Ian used his Auto Mag & the police have it.  They have told Laura that she will never get the gun back.  I believe this to be wrong but am not sure.  Any advice on this would help as I already have it sold for her if she can get it back.  Thanks.

I am not sure where (what state) he passed away in, but, in most instances the next of kin can petition the local court to have the PD or Sheriff's Office return the firearm.  In instances where the firearm was used in a crime, it is kept in evidence for several years till the appeal process winds it way thru the legal system, then destroyed.

in keeping with stupid, they will destroy it because suicide is a criminal act, therefore it was used in a crime. Sry but that's always what I have heard. They figure it's the last time "that firearm" can harm a human.

Actually I talked to the Hoover Police today & they said all she has to do is show ownership & she can pick it up.  So she is supposed to get  paperwork from his brother stating that he has given everthing to her & she should be OK.  This came right fron the Sergeant who took it.  Funny thing is the Property Officer thought it was a 44 Desert Eagle because of the TDE marking.  Thought the DE stood for Desert Eagle!!!!!

That's great news! Glad it will survive! Also it helps for the money reason where it should be. Maybe the Property guy just seen the DE in TDE or maybe it goes to show us all how some people just can't read what is plainly printed,  on the firearm in this case. Always remember not everybody admires firearms.

Hello Larry,
Would you copy and paste this letter on the page please. Thank you honey!

I want to thank all of you for your love and support after Ian killed himself. I want you to all to know he respected and admired all of you. Today is the one month anniversery of his passing. I miss him so much and I am so scared. Thank you to all of you for being so kind and helping my son and me out. It makes my heart swell with joy that there are still people who are kind hearted and willing to help others in need. My son and I thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts.
With much love and respect,
Laura Campbell     This picture is how My son & I will always remember Ian!!!

Any insight as to what drove Ian to this?  Health issues, depression, financial???

Seemed like he had a good thing going, getting married, kid interested in his hobbies, etc.
