A "slightly modified" Model 160 for sale on GB if anyone is looking for something different.

I just love the description: "The takedown screw on left side of frame was replaced and does not disrupt pistol use at all."

LOL

'Replaced'??

Why would anyone do that, especially to a 'gently used' pistol?Confused

The barrel was coming unlatched during firing and flying off the front of the frame.

Run it up, until you blow it up, then back it down a bit.

2k is not a bad price. It would be an easy fix to fill in the holes. Being it was a scoped 357, I bet the barrel lugs are bent back.

I like the serial number, kinda cool.

There's a plunger and spring that are supposed to keep the latch from rotating. If they got damaged or lost, yeah, the latch would open when shooting.

A bit of TIG work and polish the frame, and it could be remedied. Hopefully Bubba the Gunsmith didn't make any other repairs.

After languishing on GunGrojet for months, I bought this one last week. The barrel latch is loose (? weak detent spring) and the screw appears placed to prevent the latch from falling down. The gun is otherwise in excellent condition (including bolt and retaining ring) and does in fact appear to be minimally fired.

I actually bought this gun to replace missing parts on a Model 180 I recently purchased that has several missing or damaged parts.  This one has all the parts I need to get the 180 up and running and I plan to pair the 357 AMP barrel with it. If I ever find the parts I need, I’ll restore this one to functioning condition.

Here’s a list of the parts I need, if anyone has a line on them:
#30 retaining ring
#31 safety plate spacer (I actually found one at Numrich)
#32 safety plate
#34 hold open assembly
#35 hold open spring
#46 safety lever detent plunger
#47 safety lever detent spring (outer)
#48 safety lever detent spring (inner)

Thanks.
