Does anyone know anything about these? Were they ever marketed?
I picked this one up out of an estate sale about 30 miles from Irwindale. Bruce Stark had noted that they could "cut you lip". This one appears to be unused and it not very sharp. Similar to a butter knife without serrations. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I see quite a few views and no responses. Just want to make sure everyone knows that this is Harry Sanford's invention. It was manufactured at the AMT shop in Irwindale.

I believe that Walt Jones invented the Hungry Camper and Harry had it made.
Walt and Larry Grossman where the two managers at the Irwindale factory. Bruce Why did the German chicken cross the road ? He was just following orders ! HA

Thanks Bruce, did they ever get marketed to any extent? This is the only one I've ever seen.

I am not sure if it was marketed or not. There may have been a brochure about it or an ad in a magazine. I heard about it from an AMT factory worker and bought a couple. If the knife part of it is sharpened enough to make it useful, it will cut your mouth.
How did the Punk-Rocker cross the road ? He stapled himself to the chicken. I do not know anything about Mr. Market. Why did the chicken step in front of a Greyhound bus ? He wanted to get to the other side. |

Oh Yes, I remember when Harry handed me one. I asked Harry," What made him decide to make that?" He said "why not? It's just a fun project"
I don't know if Bruce was with me at the time or not, when I visited the factory. Brian Maynard took mine and Acid etch engraved the "KMP" logo onto mine. Memories... Eric

Bulls Eye, I have a couple that Walter Sanford gave me many years ago. Just have to find where I put my miscellaneous AM items.
