It was a project that really didn't get momentum. I've seen two for sale over the past 20 years. About 10 years ago, I saw serial number 001, with an AMT marking, for sale on Gunbroker. The markings were engraved with the same font they used on the serial numbers for the Automag. The serial number 001 looked like an original 1974 Sharps, but restored, not new production. The other one I saw looked to be made from new castings.

I have a brochure (Late OMC/Early AMT, El Monte address) that shows the 1874 sharps rifle and sharps kit rifle.

I have had a AMT Sharps since 1980. It is serial number 004 and chambered 45-120. I love this gun and is very accurate. I was out shooting it yesterday at my 150 yard target I have set up.
