Interesting. Plain black. See this thread, Pantera Mike has a black one, with basket weave stamping. I think he intends to list it for sale. That’s 2 black ones in a week. Maybe they did come in black and brown, plain and basket weave. Never saw a black one on the web when I was looking for an example to make my pattern from. Anyone with a 70s Safariland catalog to help? For that matter, a Bianchi?

 Here are some Bianchi holsters and some Alfonso holsters. I recently got a Bianchi flap holster, like the one on the left, that is a black basket weave. The Alfonso holster on the right is for the .45 ACP Auto Mag.

Very cool. Is the .45ACP a 5” barrel? Sure changes the look with only two vents! I noticed that the holster on the right has a hole at the barrel tip, could it be for a leg tie down?

You are both right. The barrel length of the .45 ACP Auto Mag is just about 4.5 inches.
I had several of the Bianchi holsters for sale at one time, and I kept the one with the hole at the bottom to avoid a complaint. It came with a piece of rawhide to secure it to your leg. I believe the hole was added by the previous owner. Jim, thank you for the link to the Safariland Leather Catalog. Bruce

Bruce, did you bite on the Safariland catalog? Did it list holsters for the Auto Mag?
