There are quite a few Dan Wesson 445, 375 and 357 Super Mags floating around, but rarely will you see a 414, which is an elongated 41 Magnum. This particular example was a special order gun with a 6" full under lug barrel. Most of the Super Mags, in all calibers, were fitted with 8" non-under lug barrels and slotted barrel shrouds. That allowed for the longest sight radius and still "make weight" for IHMSA silhouette competition. Tony ![]() |

Very cool SS pistol. Does the cylinder lock move up or down to open? Had not heard of the 414 before.

I saw the literature for this back in the day, but never saw one anywhere. Not at any gun show. Always wondered how many got made. I thought it was a cartridge that should have been more popular. Good to see you played around with it. Any further anecdotes about it to add?
