To the question of recoil and grip brittleness: Waay back in the 60's I had a new and beautiful Colts Python. Casting resin had recently emerged and I had used it in various craft projects with a lot of success. I got a wild-hair that a black-pearlescent grip would look magnificent on it. No time or effort was spared and the new combat grips were styled and fitted to absolute perfection. Perceived stress points were addressed. Many hours later the stunning grips on the beautiful Python-blue weapon were exactly what I had hoped for.. THEY EXCEEDED MY IMAGINATION! About the second time I fired it, they broke. Lesson I learned about 'brittle' media for pistol grips; "Should have only used the beautiful grips for show, and not go!"
