Yes the safety lever must be removed to get to the firing pin. Just be carefull not to loose the spring and plunger from the safety lever. Re- install the lever isn't that easy.... |

Luc, I was just looking at my AM lll and noticed that I was missing a grip screw!!! My son had it at the range last and I do not know how I missed it at cleaning. Oh well, I have some spares so I just replaced it. Very fun pistol to shoot and it puts out a very nice light show!!!

Aloha, Thanks! How do you pull out the safety? Drive it out from the right side? Is there i pin or screw to retain the safety? Step by step please.

Well it ain't simple to explain in words how to strip this, (and it depends on your handiness) but go to Ians website and find the manual and parts diagram.
This should get you started.

Aloha, Thanks Luc V. I had downloaded the manual before. The schematic doesn't show how the parts go together. I figured it out from everyones comments. Kinda easy to do. just need a pin punch. Push the firing pin in to release the safety, slowly slide the safety to the left, blocking the firing pin from flying to neverland with your thumb. Now I can start modifyling the rear sight. Thank you everyone who responded.
