I’ve read some previous posts about tools people used to replace the retaining ring. I think I understand the idea. I see that others have made their own tool using some sort of center punch tool. Could anybody let me know exactly what center punch to buy and how to modify it?

Does anybody have any retaining ring’s that I could buy?

Mtn_Eagle,

I made the tool from a punch (I had seen pictures years ago and figured it out).

Lee Jurras and Brian Maynard also had made some in the past.

I have some retaining rings and spacers, and even hammer clip rings.

Here's a link to a discussion about the center punch

Here's the one you need to start from:

Sears used to carry it, I miss Sears.

Here is my old ad but the prices will be different (and the USPS envelope if you want one with insurance will definately be more).  I had to pay more for the rings recently:

Lastly, I have a minty set of 357 AMP dies.

Send me a PM with your email and phone number.  Let me know what time zone you are in please, unless you like getting calls at odd hours.  I'm in Eastern time.

I'll try to call you today if I have a few free minutes and we can discuss what you need.

Jason

PM sent. I’m liking this site a lot. Why can’t one exist dedicated to all the out of production vintage guns I own?
