Hopefully some of the buyers of the next batch (Classic or whatever they are called) will provide some range feedback.

Still hoping to see a final list of improvements to the new guns, and also the final test report on the 5000 round firing test of the new guns, there may be elements of the test that are applicable to the original Auto Mags.

I will try and get mine out this week and try them.  My roof got hailed out this summer and then we went through a 100 mph Derecho Wind Storm which took down trees and I just got the new gutters on the house yesterday to finish repairs .

Don't expect much of a report as I will just put a couple mags through the 8 1/2" and the same for the 6 1/2" to test function and see what it does on paper, that's all.  Arthritis in my hands and wrists takes a lot of the fun out of it.  I have some great target pistols that are easy on the hands and super accurate.

I find it interesting that those who seem to be the most interested in the new guns are the ones who either won't buy one, can't buy one, or are on the fence.

Guys, get your check books out, they are the best value in AMP's on today's market, I did, twice.

Don't expect any 5000 round report either, they would be foolish to put one out.  Test you own guns.  JMO

I thought we were told the torture test report would be released? Has that changed,,,

Assuming the data is good, its a great marketing tool and would go a long way to dispelling the still persistent rumors that the AM is not a reliable gun.

As far as being interested in shooting reports and buying one, well I for one am interested in user and test reports for all kinds of things I will never buy, expensive cars, aircraft, guns, etc.  I will never own my one jet helicopter, but I am always interested in the latest offerings.  So for me the new AM is no different, but that said, if it sells reasonably well and the user reports are good, and they change the barrel to a true classic look (not just in name only) AND they certify it for sale in my draconian state (or I move), then I might consider one for a shooter rather then keep using up originals.  (Dont want much do I,,,)

But then why should I run out and buy one  Without the test report, and user feedback?  Why do I need another AM,,,

For me, it would be like getting a Ruger as a shooter and keeping the more valuable Colts in pristine condition. But only if it meets all the standards I listed above, as the Ruger does by comparison to a Colt.  Without exaggeration I think I have well over a million rounds through my Single Six and ZERO rounds through any of my Colt 22 SAA's.  The Vaquero is also good analog to the original AM vs the New AM.

But to each his own, if someone wanted to keep shooting an original Pasadena/Custom 100/etc and buy a new AM as their safe queen, thats their business. Life is short and enjoy.

Well this but one persons opinions, obviously others will have different perspectives.

Got to get back to shoveling snow and clearing ice.  I find I am liking winter less and less every year.  I tolerate it by reminding myself I dont have alligators and poisonous snakes or other nasty creatures in my yard every day,,,

Patrick calls the shots and he was not the one to say that the a report would be released.

As for a marketing tool, all that needs to be said is;

" We have just successfully completed a 5,000+ round firing test with full power 44 AMP ammo on a production gun to verify the time proven design of the Auto Mag with our 20+ design improvements and are happy to say with a couple of small design changes we are sure we are producing the best, the most reliable, and the most durable Auto Mag  ever made."

The thought of the report brings out the "engineer" in all of us but really is not needed to be made public.  I am sure I would find the report interesting but I certainly don't think it's needed..

Let's face it George, you and your alter ego have been disparaging the New Company for years on the need for a redesign, the physical appearance of the new barrel, and the time line.  You have openly said you do not want a new design Auto Mag and will not buy one so why would they give anyone more ammunition for descent?

The new Auto Mags have enough design changes that the tests on them have very little to do with the old AutoMags.

You have always talked of the thousands of round you have put through yours, do you need more proof?

Again, just my opinion.

Not sure whats under you skin today Bob, but I am really disappointed to see you throwing down the alter ego slur AND challenging how much I have actually shot Auto Mags when I have been one of the most consistent people on this forum and gone so far out of my way to help other Auto Mag owners when so many of the long time members here have been doing little more than making backdoor connections to build their collections and make money off others.  I have probably given away more used AM brass than most here have fired.

If somehow you see my questions, concerns, and opinions about the new Auto Mags company as disparaging to you personally, then I apologize, but they are honest questions, observations, and concerns that I am entitled to.  Clearly I am not one of the people here who can piss money away on a pair $4K pistols on a whim and wait years for delivery and if thats what gets you a pass here then it is obvious I do not belong.

So with that said, I hope you enjoy you new Auto Mags, I will not burden you with my questions, observations, and comments any further nor should you be worrying about any alter ego, I didnt need one in the past, I don't need one now, and I can assure you I will not have one in the future.

I will now sign off this forum.

Best of Luck to you all.

GH

George, I guess that I did not think that I was saying anything that would make you that mad.

I know you have shot the Auto mags a lot of rounds, I guess I got very tired of you and Pasadena Joe bad mouthing the new company and have never under stood why.

Sorry to see you go as I meant nothing really.

I apologize, as maybe I am just is a sour mood today with all that has gone on here.

It has been 2 weeks since the first pistols shipped.   Beemer shared with us his new pride and joy. Since then I may have asked but no one can confirm any other shipments?? The website forum disappeared also. (At least for me) I’m not going to start any conspiracy theories but to advertise on the the website they have limited 25 guns a month, first come first serve  just seems a odd?  If your not shipping for 2 weeks at a time where are the pistols? The grassy knoll lol ... Just sayin...

What a total shame
GH is a very knowledgeable person and an asset to this board, he has helped me out several times Thumbs Up
The board is here to learn and ask questions as there are very few experts or should I say people that know whats going on and are not profiting from their knowledge.
Hope to see him back.

I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll post here.

I was watching a weird movie called Dreamland - and an Automag popped up unexpectedly near the end:
