I didn’t notice that somebody had started a new thread. I hope the admins merge this with the existing #2 thread. It is they who created that thread and if everybody starts making their own #3, #4, #5 etc it’s going to be chaos.
Let the admins handle that.... |

What do you all think about start a new topic "The new AUTO MAG production 2020 - ..." to post all information about the new Automag's?
It would be easier and faster to find specific information when using the search function in the future. The threads new automag part 1 & 2 have already so many pages to read if you want to know the facts. Later on when the new updated site is ready we could make some subcategories for a more clear reference. Just a thought... Luc V.

Either is fine by me. I have no problem understanding part 3, and if people want to change it to anything else that fine to. Just looking forward to seeing shooting reports.

I once walked out into the back yard and found a long box with a barrel sticking out. The delivery driver had thrown it over the fence, apparently three days before. And it had rained intermittently ever since. There was just a rifle in a box, no packing material of any kind, and there were holes punched through by the barrel and bolt handle. Astoundingly, the rifle was undamaged, and the previous owner had hosed it with some kind of "protectant" that had kept the rust at bay. Yes, it was supposed to be an "adult signature required" delivery... |

I once had a UPS driver fill in the "adult signature required" with "package left at counter" for a 10 1/2" Auto Mag barrel. I can assure you the only "counter" at my house was in the kitchen and he did not go inside my house! Needless to say they never found the barrel, never paid the insurance, the seller never made good on the deal, and no amount of threatening to UPS did any good. The cost to hire a lawyer was more than the cost of the barrel so go who got stuck without his money or barrel,,, I avoid UPS any time I can and have nothing good to say about them as a company. As for sellers and their packing, I still get things that shock me in how poorly that are packed, or the mix of nonsense people will their in the box as filler. Some will use their actual trash just short of garbage. Common sense is mostly gone from our world,,,

The best packing I've ever seen for anything was for a set of sodium 'mirrors' used in sensitive infra red spectrometers. They came from Japan in a very sturdy wooden box and from the hardwood wooden frame inside in a small box suspended from thick rubber bands in the center of the wooden box frame the actual items were enclosed. I wish I'd had the ability to take a photo of it. I saw this while working with a customs broker attached to Flying Tiger Airlines in the very early 1970s. As you can see if left an impression on me...

Seems like the buyers of the Founders Edition are collectors not shooters. Hopefully some of the buyers of the next batch (Classic or whatever they are called) will provide some range feedback. Still hoping to see a final list of improvements to the new guns, and also the final test report on the 5000 round firing test of the new guns, there may be elements of the test that are applicable to the original Auto Mags. |
