I am the proud new owner of an almost new in the box .30 Carbine AMT Auto Mag III...

THIS THING IS AWESOME ! ! !Clap Thumbs Up

AMT Automag III in .30 Carbine Caliber !

I was able to pick it up on www.gunbroker.com for $999...
It was a 98% plus LIKE NEW IN BOX condition in fantastic shape with 2 mags...
ALSO, even though I have shot my friends 9mm's and my Son's 45 Glocks, & Colt 1911, & Springfield XD, THIS thing beat ANY of these pistols hands down...Star

Now, that being said, does anyone know here if anyone is still marketing/selling extra .30 carbine mags for the AMT Auto Mag III ? ? ?

AND, since High Standard bought up AMT and were (still ? ) marketing the .380 & 22 Magnum Auto Mag AMT models, I wish they would certainly consider reviving the AUTO MAG III in .30 Carbine ? ? ?

AND, Finally, If High Standard will not, I wonder if KAHR ARMS / AUTO-ORDNANCE would consider it since they are still manufacturing also marketing the M1 Carbine rifle ? ? ?

I think THAT reviving the AUTOMAG III by a company like KAHR ARMS / AUTO-ORDNANCE would make for one heck of an AWESOME marketing strategy to offer a PISTOL/RIFLE combo...

We are starting to see this because of people looking at the common sense idea of ammo commonality and the renewed interest that is out there now for the .30 carbine M1 Carbine rifle, in combo with the Ruger Black Hawk .30 carbine single action Revolver (which was recently brought back into  production to answer demand for a .30 carbine pistol as a companion to the M1 Carbine rifle)...

THAT is why I think it would be SMART if some one would consider re-introducing the AMT AUTO MAG III in the .30 Carbine ....
Just my 2 cents worth...
God Bless,

YOUR THOUGHTS ? ? ?

I agree the automag III is an awesome gun they shoot good and accuracy very good also. I like them so much I have 6 of them with 2 of them being 9mm win mags which is very awesome also but the one I like the best out of the 6 is my .30 custom of My on doing.
The mags can be picked on ebay and gunbroker just watch for them.

THAT is on HANDSOME pistol there wbautomag...

VERY NICE ! ! ! Clap

You did a fantastic job on it...
Nice polishing job...
LOVE the grips...
I have thought about having some nice wood grips done and engraved with something like maybe a "Gadsden Flag" theme maybe="Don't Tread on Me" and Rattlesnake, or maybe an eagle engraved in them...

You know, I have been wanting an Auto Mag III in the .30 carbine to go with my M1 Carbine rifle now for close to 10 years, and FINALLY found a good one on www.gunbroker.com up for auction, and was BLESSED enough to have won the bid for it...

I JUST got through sending High Standard (who now owns & makes new AMT .22 mag, .380, 9mm, .40s&W, and .45 backup auto pistols as well as a "Long Slide" .22 mag Auto Mag II), an e-mail asking them to consider re-introducing the .30 carbine Auto Mag III...

As yo probably know and as I have posted above, RUGER is now re-introduced and selling their "BLACK HAWK" model single action revolvers again due to the demand from customers to have a pistol that shoot .30 carbine...

I am also a Ruger fan and will hopfully be getting a .30 carbine Ruger Revolver by years end...

I am also a member of the Ruger forum and have seen much talk there on the post about the .30 carbine, mention that they also wished there were some one who could revive the .30 carbine Auto Mag III, or a model 1911 like it chambered in the .30 carbine so as to be able to HAVE a new .30 carbine semi-auto pistol as well as a revolver & rifle....

Please elaborate & share any of Your thoughts here on this ? ? ?

Also agreed, the Am III is a great gun to shoot.
Always gets attention at the range.
I currently have 4, a .30, and 3 9mm win mags.

Very nice indeed ProTourAero...

Sounds like you have an AWESOME AMT AutoMag collection as well...Star

I am thoroughly impressed with the AMT AutoMag III that I have, as well as the .30 carbine as a pistol round...Clap

I sure WISH that SOMEONE would re-introduce the AUTOMAG III or even an updated model of a 1911 styled pistol that would except the .30 carbine round...
I Know, wishful thinking and "fantasy" on my part... Ermm

By the  way, Have you had a hard time finding any extra mags ?
I have seen one or two over the past 2 months on www.gunbroker.com up for auction/sale...
I think one went on auction for a final bid of about $79 and they were asking some thing like $149 for the other one on a straight out right buy of a new never used mag...

Any of y'alls, experiences and suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks & GOD Bless,  Wink

Sam

If they do revive it I hope it will be somewhat redesigned to make it run more reliably.

If someone with a good reputation does re-issue it, sign me up for one!

I've a pair of III in .30 carbine ... it's a real hoot to shoot both at the same time ... real Tomb Raider stuff!!
Glad I picked up some spare mags when they were around.
These are touchy ... some mags will drop free and others have to be extracted with some difficulty.  Apparently there was some variations in the mags and mag wells.

Now looking to pick up a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carb.

Then I'll have .30 cabine rifle (WWII), the III Automags in .30, and the Blackhawk.

I'll be set!

To me the 30!s are the most impressive around dusk , the light show is better than fireworks ,I have 2   45 longslides that I shot together , could never master the left handed one ,I magine 2  30 carbs would take some getting usted to

I just point and blast away!  Sometimes one fails to extract due to the chamber problem (never returned it to be re-reamed).  Be nice to find a gunsmith who knows how to work on them ...
