I think it would be an early gun with SN aruond 1300 if I remember correctly.

I haven't tried more than 3 at a time.  I am using the 300 grain factory loads.

I have heard a lot of bad things about the early Wildey's and I have stayed away from them.  The one's I shoot are all made post 2000 and I have had good luck with all of them.

You might want to try some of the 230 grain stuff the USA Firearms is selling or reload some yourself.

All the guns are different but 16 clicks for 300 grain ammo seems high, how long is the barrel?

I bought one around 1989. It was serial number 1109. Complete POS.

Tony
Run it up, until you blow it up, then back it down a bit.

I am embarrassed putting this post up.

I got as email from USA Firearms, the new Wildey Co., yesterday stating that they will start producing and shipping the 44 AMP barrels that were projected to be available one year ago.  I put a 50% deposit down in July of 2018.

Unless they will make me a 357 AMP barrel I am through dealing with them.

Been there, done that (with other companies).

Never again. If they want my money ... I pay through paypal and I cancel in 5 months 29 days if there is no delivery.

I've come to the conclusion that if the big boys (Ruger, S&W, Sig, Glock, Magnum Ressearch...etc.) don't do it, its probably a bad idea.

Not always, but, I've never lost money on their products.

Well Maybe this is a good omen.

I got a call from USA Firearms, the New Wildey Company, and she said my 44 AMP barrel is shipping tomorrow.  I ordered it 20 months ago and it is just 14 months late.

I talked to Patrick Henry today and he is cautiously optimistic.  The new frames were nearly correct and he is able to make guns out of them but is waiting until better frames come to start making guns to ship.  The casting company is confident that they know what to change.

No promises, no firm date but things are looking better.  Good news.

Well, I received my 44 AMP barrel from Wildey yesterday.

I have not tried it on the frame yet but they really do nice work inside and out on their stuff.  I just wish they would get there production scaled up to get product out, 14 months late.

I guess now I will see if they would do some 357 AMP barrels.  I know they have barrel blanks left over from the old company.

Steve, look on page 6 of this thread.  There are some photos of the original pistol I bought from them.  It is in 475 Wildey but the AMP barrel looks identical.  I even put an AMP in the pic for comparison.
