The process for marking the slides and barrels is called "Electrochemical Etching". The company that provided the equipment and etching stencils to all the Automag companies, including AMT was: Marking Methods

Thats correct. There may, however, be somebody here that has the stencils and can re-etch the polished bbl.

if you have the time / inclination then it would be possible to vectorise ( super accurate image ) the logos and words, however getting the negative stensil cut ( blade / laser / water jet / electro discharge? ) is going to be the trickey part.

but hey, you know what is right?

Yes, the "purists" might have an opinion, but, in the end, its YOUR barrel!
I was hoping by now somebody would have piped up and offered to re-stencil a polished bbl. w/ original address, etc.
I know there at least WAS somebody out there w/ stencils evidenced by several "fake" barrels etched with the Pasadena address but with "Patented" instead of "Patent pending" as it should be.
These fakes may be from years ago, and may not have been made by the guy that now has the stencil, of course!
I suggest you start a new topic..."re-etching a barrel"(or similar) and see if that will get a response from whomever may be able to do that work for you.
My only other comment would be, please dont try to sell a newly polished bbl. as "factory polished"(which are rare).
