Very nice AutoMag Scott but how do you know it is unfired? Just curious that's all.
"This is the 44 Magnum Auto Mag and holds a 300 grain cartridge and if properly used it can remove the fingerprints"!!!

Can you imagine what it felt like to have that in your hands in 1971, it must have been like nothing before.

I still remember seeing that centerfold picture/story with all the Auto Mags on the shooting bench when I was a kid. I knew that day I wanted one.  Then I saw my first one in person in a shop around 1975/76.

When looking at any Auto Mag, I often think of Harry Sanford and his vision and determination to make if come to be, and all the sacrifices and suffering he went through to make it happen.  He could have just given up at any time and just been a successful gun shop owner, but he never gave up.

And while I have great appreciation for some of the variants (HARDBALLER - Jurras International & 41JMP Silhouette - and the infamous Dirty Harry 8 1/2" VR gun) I personally feel that Harry got it right in the first try.  If they never made anything but the original Pasadena I would still be happy, as it looks PERFECT just like in your photo.

As I have said many times it as a masterpiece of art in metal.

In many ways that picture is perfection.

Enjoy

GH
