Excel Arms also makes one in 22WMR. It's called an Accelerator.
Also, we can't forget the High Standard AMT-II that they are currently selling. These do not have the ported or fluted barrels. The chamber is smooth. I purchased one of their barrels for a different idea/project that I was thinking about. I haven't heard of anyone owning a High Standard AMT-II or how they shoot. Don't know if they are ammo specific either. |

Yep, forgot about this one,
"Excel Arms also makes one in 22WMR.
It's called an Accelerator". It was on my list of "to
get". They also make a rifle verson called the "Accelerator
Rifle", and Mitchell Mauser has a exact rifle copy called the "BLACK
Lightning", but I have yet to get around to looking into. I would like to
know how they did their handgun barrel. |

The little "ATTENTION" notice was thown into each box after we (service) had received so many complaints about it not being in the Owner's Manual. I can't speak for Larry but he most likely pinned the prototype barrel for easy change out while he worked with the port sizes. The ports are in the barrel, not the sleeve (or shroud), One set in front of the chamber and two sets in the chamber, channeling the gas. The sleeve simply encases the system. I remember the painstaking efforts Larry went thru in the development stage. But he did it!!! I'm sure the welding of the production pieces is for simplicity and reduced cost of manufacturing. Larry, please reign in here.

Luv to Shoot: would you still have a barrel for the 6" AMT II? I've been searching for our for a while now: HS says they will be doing them again, some time this year, maybe!

Hi John,
Yes, I still have it. I'll shoot you a PM so we don't keep bumping this thread to the top. Thanks, John |
