I just purchased a used AMT auto mag 11 and noticed the firing pin does not move smoothly. I assume I have to remove the rear sight in order to access the pin holding the firing pin and spring in place. I removed the roll pin supposedly holding the rear sight in place but it will not separate from the slide. I have some Krol working on the area now. I just don't know if there is any other reason why the rear sight won't separate from the slide. The firing pin will stick in the "fire position" when pressed, not a good thing, I would imagine. Any comments would be appreciated.

lyktorct remove the 1/6" pin in the sight and remove the sight level adjusting screw and it should come off.

Thank you, that did the trick, BUT, I found a very small, less than 1/8 " wide, C clip underneath it. Any idea where that came from?? I've checked the listing of parts at Numericks and can't find any C clip on the handgun. It is very very thin, but nonetheless, a C clip. I can't imagine it could be part of the rear sight.

That one I dont know could be a broke rap off of the spring. Are someone could have put it on the screw to kept it from getting lost or something.
