New to the game. Respectful request for some help / advise. TDE180, .44 Trigger bar not always mating / connecting with sear. Trigger pulls all the way to the stop, no hammer fall. Not fun.
Can some times get it to work by reracking slide, but not always. Seems to work ok with slide removed. If this has ben covered elsewhere on the forum, please post link for me.

Hi Tony, Thanks for the tip. Trigger bar spring ( 37 ) is in place. With the barrel removed, uncocked / hammer down, the trigger bar is up in line with the sear ( 42 ). Barrel removed, hammer cocked with bolt held forward under recoil spring pressure, trigger bar is in-line with the sear.
Barrel off, slide / hammer back on hold open, trigger bar is lower than sear / clear of sear under full trigger depress. Barrel on, unloaded, slide released, trigger bar moves up tiny amount, but if barrel moved rearward 1/4 in, trigger bar moves up inline with the sear and activates hammer release on trigger pull. However, as aboved but with loaded magazine, after slide release, even with jiggling of the slide, the trigger bar, 9 out of 10 times does not move up in-line with sear. ?????? Any clues what drives the up and down movement of the trigger bar??? Loving the adventure, any help to even-up the skinned knuckles to shots fired ratio appreciated.

Is this gun new to You?
Are the original grips on? Are the recoil rods tight/cooking piece helicoils intact Is the bolt ring square? Bolt lugs undammaged? |

To complicate further, trigger bar / sear functions normally with a different barrel fitted ( el monte .357 ) . Havent tried firing with .357, forming dies on still on order!!! |

Is the inside of the grip pressing against the trigger bar?
Try it with the grip removed. Tony |

First is it a factory barrel or after market sounds like to me the barrel is either letting the bolt rotate to far or not far enough to let the bolt safety tappet engage in its proper position to let the trigger bar come up to engage the sear.
check your head spacing and the bolt rotation pin for excessive wear or broke pin also you don't have to have forming dies if you have a set of loading dies and are using starline brass just use your loading dies.
