Bob,
That is a terrific collection! I have always been a tremendous fan of the 10mm cartridge and was an early adopter, buying (new) one of the first Colt Delta Elite pistols ever made, in 1987 or so. In 1990 I had it customized a bit, fitting an oversize barrel link for tighter lockup, and the Wilson Shok-buf full length guide rod system. I also had them relieve the ejection port. I shot it that way for years, then last year I sent it to Wilson Combat to have them fit one of their triggers and give it a proper trigger job. Just in the past few weeks, I was able to buy long-discontinued NOS Pachmayr rubber grip safety, arched mainspring housing, and Pachmayr grips. A local gunsmith fitted them and also polished the feed ramp a bit. I just got it back a few days ago, and haven’t fired it since this last round of improvements. It certainly feels much better in my hand than it did with the old slab-side grips and flat mainspring housing. When I am doing my part it has proven to be extremely accurate. The photo below shows one of my better groups at 15 yards with full-power ammo (10.0 gr Blue Dot and 180gr lead SWC). (Edit—the forum software won’t let me upload the pics of the target or modified magazine for some reason) However I find I often have failed to do my part, due partially to the former trigger pull, and partially to the stock grips. It was harder to consistently shoot it well than my softball Gold Cup 45. I’m looking forward to my range opening up again so I can try it out. I recently bought a pair of CMC 9-round magazines. While technically they (barely) held 9 rounds, the internals were so compressed that they could not be inserted into the gun with the slide forward. They only fit when the slide was locked back. Taking a cue from my Detonics 45, I had a friend mill slots in the base of the mags, which allows the back of the follower to just barely protrude and gives the necessary internal clearance to let them be installed in the gun with the slide forward. 10mm (when loaded to proper 10mm pressures) totally rocks! |

Crockett's Bren was actually a 45. Look at the bore size in the clip. The Vice gun was a full size 10mm Bren changed to 45 because of the availability of blanks. They chromed up the slide so it would show up better in low light shots. The Bren in my pic is a 4" Special Forces light, they were a catalog item. |

BRAVO The Bren Ten is also one of my top 5 favorite pistols, I LOVE them! That is an amazing photo, great job hunting all those guns down. If you ever find that you need to adopt a very old son to leave your collection to, I can be available as needed ;-) Thanks for sharing, I love to live vicariously through others. GH

It seems like Auto Mag fans are also 10mm fans so to brighten things up around here I thought I would put up some good news. I have been on the hunt for Bren Tens for a lot of years and just recently I found an API marked Bren and that completes my collection of all the cataloged Brens except the Jeff Cooper Commemorative and I have never even seen a picture of one except Colonel Cooper's. I had them all out at once for the first time ever so I thought I'd take a photo. |

Nobody would admit to being able to make a .40 Super barrel a couple of years ago, so I had Nowlin make me one in .40 S&W and ordered a reamer and headspace gages. When the barrel came in it was, of course, prominently marked ".40 S&W". Sigh... it never occurred to me to ask if the could leave the marking off. |

So many great photo’s and 10mm collections! I’ve been a .10mm fan for years. This is one of my favorites and it is legally a pistol until a Form 4 with the ATF makes this config legal. It is a Coharie CA-89:
