I have three failsafed safety leavers left.  I have been selling them on Gun Broker for $135 plus shipping.  I have a Pasadena safety leaver on there now.  These last three have been polished so I am asking more for them.  I will sell them to forum members for $10 less = $125 plus shipping.  Shipping = $6.80 to anywhere in the USA.  I have two Pasadena's and one El Monte left.  Included is a spare screw, part #30 and part #31 plus an Allen wrench for the screws.  My Pay-Pal account number (and email) is  bestark@ix.netcom.com  or littlekitty16@roadrunner.com  Just one polished Pasadena / North Hollywood left.

FYI
These last ten that I tapped all came out ok except for the last one that the tap broke off in.
I couldn't afford an American 2-56 forming tap (over $100) so I bought a Chinese one for $15. I form taped about four turns and then ran a cutting tap in four turns to clean up the threads.  Worked like a champ until the cutting tap gave up the ghost.  I used Canola oil and it seemed to be just right.  Thanks to all for the advice.....Bruce  The holes had to be EDM'd.

finally got around to reading this thread.
If at any point in the future you need to do any kind of stainless steel tap work - ask your tool supplier to get you what is called "interrupted thread" taps. That, combined with WD/40 for a cutting oil works. The only problem I foresee is that it is so small a size it means it won't be very common -thus $pecial order!

If you do ever get to work with one of these taps you will wonder why they even bother making standard ones. Where I learned about them was from years of machining oilfield parts out of various stainless materials. It still cuts a full profile thread but the tap itself reduces the cutting pressure which is key when working with gummy, tough stainless. The WD/40 even works great as a spray on lube for boring operations - surface finishes like glass, but caution - fumes are likely toxic - so avoid breathing it and limit your exposure to doing so while machining. Of course no fumes from taping operations to worry about.

Bruce,

I would definitely like to buy one of your Failsafed Lever  kits.

Please put me on your list and advise when you are ready for payment.

Thanks,
