Way back closer to the beginning of the year one of you had asked me about what kinds of leather was ever made for Auto Mags, well probably lots more than I have, but here is a picture of what I've kept over the years. |

I had someone here ask me about selling a holster a while back and so I dug out my AM Leather this weekend. This was the one he was most interested in. It's very old school leather, super heavy classic workmanship. It's one of those styles that you either love it or hate it. I think it looks better in real life, I never could figure out how to photograph black leather and silver guns ;-) Here is a shot of the backside: |

For me its about the protection. Keeps out rain, snow, etc. and almost impossible to have gun fall out.

Well thats the way we used to think, today is different. Hard plastic and other high tech materials with less coverage and little concern for scarring/marring or losing the gun seem to be the preference today. Everyone wants to be a quickdraw or look like they stepped out of a movie with futuristic military-like equipment. Its a new world and old school leather is for old guys and collectors.

True enough. AND it takes actual effort to keep leather in good shape. Not much, depends on what you do to it/with it, but nylon you just let dry and put away.

And for the hard plastic "tactical" holsters they do nothing.

A couple of years ago I scored a 1982 Bianchi left-hand shoulder rig for mine. Still had the little catalog and sales slip in the original package.
If I ever need to dress up in a tux, I'll use that holster with the Auto Mag instead of my normal EDC... |
