Mark Miller has a Baby Automag on Gunbroker with the double markings "Feel Lucky Punk" and "Go Ahead Make My Day" on the sides of the gun.  Did the factory produce double marked guns, or did someone add this later.  The serial number on the gun is 0043

Etching is factory, but having both phrases is kinda rare. It may have started to boost sales, but I think they stopped doing both sides, and later stopped completely, as a cost-cutting decision. Not to mention it was crowded with lettering and ugly! I wouldnt pay this much w/o box, but thats just me.

The story I always heard was the first hundred serial numbers were etched and reserved for Harry to move/give/sell. A distrubutor(J&G I think it was) who contracted for 1000, actually only got 900 because Harry took 100, then they notice sales starting to slump so they then thought it would help sell the last ones off the shelf by putting the etchings back on them. Some have one or the other and some have both, I have seen the last 200 serial numbers having all 3 ways. I also heard while they were selling, you were offered to send it to AMT and have them put on the etchings, not sure if they charged for it or not, OR even if this part was true. Again Strange things always happened at AMT.
I love my babies, they shoot better than I can for sure!

That auction looks like a nice set up for a shooter because it is missing the wood box, glad I have a few shooters or I might be bidding!

Well, if somebody wants to pay that much and deal with that shady character, I have a box I'd sell to put it in. Any ideas about how much a BAM box is worth? Good shape w/ 1 of 1000 brass tag on top.

Fair warning that comments like that will get the syndicates hit man on you real quick.

Seem like there is a group that wants to control all comments and all value and price information so they can make money.

And the experts got their own enforcers that trash anyone who has a different opinion.

Oh and I agree about shady character, met him once.  He is only in it for the money, Im betting he never pulled a trigger on one.  He is slick as his hair goo. Probly sell his stuff off as soon as the group he is trying to impress gets bored with his stories and then buy one of them Miami Vice boats so he can showoff to his buds. -joe

From Wikipedia:

"troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[

often for the troll's amusement."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, how are you NOT a Troll ?

Who met Mark Miller, George Hebert or the old grizzled trapper from the 18th century, Pasadena Joe ?

The Dr. Jekle Mr. Hyde thing you got going on is fooling nobody.  George, we do worry about you and I fear that you drink too much.  I may be wrong.  You may just be going through a hard time or maybe a brain tumor.

I have hoped this has all just been tongue-in-cheek East Coast humor.  I fear I am wrong.

People have told me they are afraid to post because George doesn't like Max, or Patrick, or Mark and don't want to become your target.

A gentleman is a man who can walk into a room and make everybody feel comfortable.  A Troll does just the opposite.

I will here name call based on evidence.  You are presently a Troll and a Nasty Bully.  You are presently contributing nothing to this forum.

Alinsky tactics: Raise your voice, call names, project your actions onto the target, challenge or ignore all facts and then call more names.  The object is to "Shut-Up" anyone who you don't agree with.

You bitched endlessly about the design of the stanchions (between the rib and the barrel) on Patrick's new Auto Mag.   Patrick went back to the original design and without dropping a beat you started in on the UGLY line in the rib where the barrel is screwed into the receiver.  Really George ?

You used to post enjoyable reading with you're unique sense of humor, but not anymore.

I hope you see the change in yourself and address it.  I would like to see the old George resurface.

All the best (really)  Bruce Stark

I noticed that both the serial number and the etching are at an angle.  I compared that to my BAMs and mine are aligned with the frame.  Is that an indication the etching was added later or just sloppy production at the factory?
