I made my 44 brass out of Lake City blank 7.62 stuff.  bought a large quantity out of a single belt and it has performed very well.  The blank stuff is very thick walled and neck reaming it definitely a time consuming and long step but with the blank brass came up with good consistency.  Now saying that I picked up some of the Starline to squash into 357 and found that after I had dome that it shot as well and performed the same as the Quality brass I picked up some years earlier.   20-30 years ago when I was doing this cutting down was the only game in town for not going broke finding CDM or Norma stuff, now with Starline I would not have even got the case forming set.  I will say that the blank brass has never worn out or split so you might say it is bulletproof :-)
